Universal For Less

Updated: Jun 6

Choose the Right Time to Travel

Much like other theme parks, Universal Orlando is busiest (and priciest) during school holidays. Plan your trip for mid-January, early May, or mid-September for lower crowds and better pricing on hotels and tickets.

Bundle and Save

Booking a vacation package—hotel + tickets + extras—can often result in significant savings. Work with a Universal Preferred Travel Advisor to find bundle deals that maximize value and minimize stress.

Stay at a Value Hotel On-Site

Universal’s Value and Prime Value hotels (like Cabana Bay and Surfside Inn) offer great perks—early park admission and free transportation—at affordable nightly rates. You don’t have to splurge to stay in the heart of the action.

Skip the Express Pass (Sometimes)

Universal Express Pass can add up quickly. If you're traveling during off-peak times, wait times are often reasonable, and you may not need to purchase the pass. If you do want it, consider staying at a Premier hotel—Express is included for free!

Pack Smart

Bringing your own snacks, refillable water bottles, ponchos, and sunscreen can save you a small fortune. Lockers are available for valuables, but pack light to avoid needing them altogether.

Use a Certified Travel Agent

Working with a Universal Specialist like Danna McKinley means you’ll get expert planning at no extra cost. She’ll help you build a trip around your budget and even watch for price drops or new offers. Her job? Making your Universal trip amazing without overspending!
